The programme is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and is required for Indian nurses, who intend to register to work as a nurse in the UK.
The programme will provide nurses with the opportunity to build clinical skills and awareness of the UK Health Service through either a three or six month attachment within a hospital or nursing home setting.
The UK Border Agency has now recommended that Overseas Nursing Programme (ONP) students need to apply under Tier 2 of the Points B
For Application, you need to send an updated CV with all your academic and professional certificates and the required fee and within 20 days, you will get the 1st pack. You need to send the filled application pack back to NMC.
Within the next 30 days of NMC receiving your first pack, you will get the 2nd pack, which you need to fill up and send back to NMC along with documents from:
Verification from the nursing council
Verification from the college of nursing along with tra
Assisting with NMC applications, if required
Arranging admission at the University
Providing accurate information about the course and services to prospective candidates
Explaining, where appropriate, which university partner programmes can be followed and the criteria for successful progression
Advising students about visa requirements and assisting with visa applications
Assisting with travel arrangements
Verifying and/or translating academic transcripts
Assisting with or facilitating
